Carpet cleaning across Tonbridge, from the castle to Hildenborough

Tonbridge grew up around its castle and the River Medway, and the housing close to the town centre still reflects that history. The Georgian and Victorian properties along Quarry Hill and Bordyke are some of the most characterful we work in, generous rooms, original features and often original wool carpets that have been down for decades. Move slightly further out and the town changes character again, Hilden Park and the Slade are full of solid inter-war and post-war detached and semi-detached homes with bigger gardens, while newer apartment developments along the river and around Cannon Lane bring a different type of carpet again, modern, synthetic and often in rental use.

The villages around Tonbridge, Hildenborough, Leigh and Hadlow, each have their own character too, generally more spacious period and modern homes with a slightly more rural feel. We’re used to moving between a Bordyke townhouse and a Hildenborough detached home in the same day.

A real Tonbridge job

A family near Bordyke asked us to look at their lounge carpet, an original wool carpet in their Georgian townhouse that had never been professionally cleaned in the years they’d lived there. It had a noticeable grey cast across the main seating area, and a dark ring near the fireplace that had built up gradually over time rather than from a single spill.

We identified the carpet as genuine wool, kept the water temperature low to protect it, pre-treated the fireplace mark, then ran the full extraction. The colour lifted back significantly, the grey cast disappeared, and the family said the room finally looked as good as the rest of the house.

What makes Tonbridge carpets different?

The Georgian and Victorian properties around Quarry Hill and Bordyke often carry genuine original wool carpets, sometimes decades old, that need lower water temperatures and careful extraction to avoid shrinkage or colour bleed. The inter-war and post-war homes across Hilden Park and the Slade tend to have more forgiving synthetic or wool-blend fitted carpet, generally larger rooms with bigger, more heavily used carpets given the family-sized gardens and homes in this part of town. The newer apartments around the river and Cannon Lane bring modern synthetic carpet again, often in rental properties with a faster turnover of tenants.

Out in the surrounding villages, Hildenborough, Leigh and Hadlow, we see a similar mix of period and modern housing, generally larger properties with more carpet to cover in a single visit.

Genuine period carpets handled properly

The Georgian and Victorian townhouses around Quarry Hill and Bordyke often have original wool carpets. We identify the fibre before we start and adjust our temperature and extraction to protect it.

Built for Tonbridge's larger family homes

Hilden Park, the Slade and the surrounding villages have bigger properties with more carpet to cover. Our truck-mounted system copes with larger jobs in a single visit without losing power partway through.

Rental-ready for the newer developments

The riverside apartments and newer developments around Cannon Lane see a faster tenant turnover. We provide receipts and before-and-after photos for landlords and letting agents as standard.

Families across Hildenborough and Leigh

Our extraction removes the ground-in dirt, allergens and bacteria that vacuuming leaves behind, so growing families across Tonbridge's surrounding villages are walking on genuinely clean carpet.

Your carpet has more life in it than you think

Most carpets replaced in Tonbridge homes still have years of wear left in them. Professional extraction removes the abrasive grit wearing fibres down from underneath, extending the life of the carpet you already have.

Brennan's team, not a subcontractor

Every job in Tonbridge is carried out by our own trained team, not outsourced to a subcontractor you have never met. You will know who is coming to your home before they arrive.

How much does carpet cleaning in Tonbridge cost?

For most Tonbridge households we recommend every 12 to 18 months. If you have children under five, dogs or cats, or anyone with allergies or asthma, every 6 to 12 months makes a noticeable difference to air quality and carpet life. Original wool carpets in Tonbridge’s older townhouses often benefit from more frequent, gentler care to protect fibres that can’t easily be replaced.

Every quote is confirmed before we start, with no hidden charges. Call us on 07858 812316, WhatsApp us, or fill in our contact form. We also carry out commercial cleaning for Tonbridge’s restaurants, pubs, gyms and venues.

How often should you have your carpets cleaned?

How long does carpet cleaning take to dry?

With our truck-mounted system, most carpets are touch-dry within 2 to 4 hours and fully dry within 6 to 8. Original wool carpets in Tonbridge’s period properties take longer, sometimes up to 12 hours, while the more common synthetic carpets in newer homes and apartments tend to dry towards the faster end of that range.

Our Approach

Every carpet clean follows the same process, because shortcuts are where damage happens:

  • Assessment. We check the fibre type, identify stains and test a small area before anything else.
  • Pre-treatment. Problem areas are treated with the right spotter for that specific stain.
  • Truck-mounted extraction. Our equipment stays in the van and feeds hot water and suction through hoses into your home for far more extraction power than any portable machine.
  • Deodorising. Every carpet is deodorised as standard.
  • Fibre protector (optional). Coats each fibre so future spills bead on the surface, particularly worthwhile on the original wool carpets found around Quarry Hill and Bordyke.

All our products are biodegradable, safe for children and pets, and we always leave your home clean and dry, not wet and smelling of chemicals.
